Abstract: | This paper discusses linguistic impoliteness, with specific reference to examples of language used by Donald Trump, the 45^<th> president of the USA. The utterances are analysed applying Culpepper’s (1996) Impoliteness model. The possible causes and underlying reasons for these utterances are examined as well as the possible implications for public discourse. |
