抄録: Molecular self-assemblies which are formed by non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen-bonding and π-π interaction have a great potential for novel functional soft-materials. The properties and functionalities of the self-assemblies highly depend on their assembling manner including higher-order structure (topology), but controlling the topology is still challenging due to directional non-covalent interaction. Here, strategies for the controlling topology and photoresponsive behavior of resulting selfassemblies are described in two topics. The first topic is about one-dimensional fibrous self-assembly constructed by template method using a surfactant for application to photocatalyst. The photocatalytic performance was enhanced by formation of fibers, and mechanism of photocatalytic reaction was clarified with kinetic analysis. The second one is description about fabrication "topological block copolymer" of selfassembly by rational molecular design and new approach: post-polymerization structural transformation. Upon irradiating UV-light to helicoidally folded self-assembly resulted in the formation of topological block copolymer possessing central folded domain and terminal unfolded domain, which was produced cooperative unfolding from termini of folded self-assembly. We proposed new approach on the control of self-assembling.
