Abstract: Two linkage isomers in copper complexes interconvert with pyrimidine ring rotation. The rotational isomerization is found to switch both luminescence and redox properties of the complexes. I described herein the summary of the novel functions such as dual luminescence caused by ring rotational isomerization, photoresponsive molecular switch based on photoinduced electron transfer driven rotational isomerization.
